Viva Aerobus
Ten years ago in Mexico, air transportation was still the privilege of only a few, 96% of the population considered the bus as their only option of interurban transportation or simply traveling by plane was impossible. That’s when Viva Aerobus had the dream of changing the way we travel in our country; We wanted to become the company that would allow Mexicans to fulfill the dream of flying for the first time and we have achieved it. We have transported more than 36 million passengers to date.
Viva Aerobus is part of Grupo IAMSA, the largest land transport group in the country, with more than 80 years in the market. Grupo IAMSA operates more than 28 companies including Omnibus de Mexico, ETN, Primera Plus, TAP, among many others and our investors have made a great commitment and commitment in Viva Aerobus.
On November 30, 2006, the runway at the Monterrey airport witnessed the takeoff of our inaugural flight, bound for the city of León. Viva Aerobus then became the first airline in the Mexican market to operate under the ultra low cost model: affordable prices for everyone to fly.
The success of our low-cost model has resulted in accelerated growth: today we have a fleet of 23 Airbus A320 aircraft that will continue to grow at 55 thanks to the order we made to Airbus, the largest that has been made in Mexico. With it and with the hard work of more than one thousand 100 direct collaborators, we operate more than 150 daily flights to cover our 71 regular routes, which allowed us to transport 6 million passengers in the last year.
Our goal is to transport 100 million passengers by the end of this decade; this will produce an economic benefit for the tourism industry as a whole and will mean the creation of 4,200 direct and indirect jobs. We have been revolutionizing the way we travel by plane in Mexico for ten years and we want to continue doing it.
